Industrial digitisation fails more often than it succeeds, and it usually fails for the same reason: software is implemented on top of processes that were never defined. An ERP configured around undocumented practices encodes the existing confusion and makes it harder to change.

The second common failure is data that nobody trusts. Production figures entered manually at shift end, inventory that never reconciles to physical stock, and machine data that exists in a control system but never reaches anyone who makes decisions. Where the numbers are not trusted, the system is bypassed and parallel spreadsheets reappear.

FAQ

Common questions

Which ERP do you recommend?
It depends on your scale, process complexity, existing systems and internal IT capability. We run a structured selection rather than carrying a fixed recommendation, and for many mid-sized manufacturers a well-implemented mid-tier system delivers more than a partially implemented enterprise platform.
How long does an ERP implementation take?
For a single-site mid-sized manufacturer, typically six to nine months from selection to stable operation. Process definition beforehand adds one to two months and consistently reduces total elapsed time by more than it costs.
Can you connect our machines to the ERP?
Yes. Machine-level data from PLC and SCADA systems can be acquired and integrated so that production, downtime and quality figures reach business systems directly rather than through manual entry. This is where OEE measurement becomes reliable.
Do we need to move to the cloud?
Not necessarily. Cloud makes sense for multi-site operations, remote access requirements and reduced infrastructure management. Single-site plants with reliable local infrastructure and connectivity constraints often do better on-premise or hybrid. We assess rather than assume.
